Bromocresol Green (BCG) is odourless, pH sensitive triphenylmethane dye with formula C₂₁H₁₄Br₄O₅S. It is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in ethanol, ether, ethyl acetate. It belongs to a class of dyes called sulfonephthaleins.  

It is used as a pH indicator in applications such as growth mediums for microorganisms and titrations also in variety of colorimetric detection technologies, sol-gel matrices and the detection of ammonia.

Acetic Acid (CH3COOH) is acid that gives vinegar its characteristic taste. The pure acetic acid is a colorless viscous liquid or glassy solid. A colorless pungent liquid acid that is the chief acid of vinegar and that is used especially in synthesis and occasionally in medicine as an astringent and styptic.
